We traveled to Athens last week for The Southern Coterie Summit Sessions in Athens, GA. What fun! The day was jam-packed with learning sessions, panel discussions and keynote presentations from well-known southern names and social media leaders.
The day started off with some great branding wisdom and a ton of laughs from the very impressive Shameeka Ayers, The Broke Socialite. She got everybody goin’!
We continued laughing and learning from Alex Wier, Daniel Stewart and Lee Heffernan of Wier/Stewart Advertising Agency who discussed Finding Happiness in your Work. Yes, I would definitely hire this group AND I would want to work for them (and YES I took this photo at lunch and YES we were drinking the BEST margaritas)!
It was absolutely great to hear Ashley Epting from Epting Events keynote on the Series of YES. Joann and I can really relate to how saying YES to the oddest of opportunities, conferences and meetings and being open to whatever comes our way has had a definite impact on our success. Epting Events was one of the main sponsors for the event and it was first class all the way.
The social media, blogging, branding and entrepreneurial lessons we learned at the Summit were definitely worth a trip to the great town of Athens (GO DAWGS!).
I will leave you with this valuable little tid bit from Jennifer Bilbro of Pink Bike Networking who spoke on Blogger/Brand Relationships and Social Media Marketing.
If you’d like to attend a Southern C Summit (the next one is in Nashville!), here’s how to connect with the founders Cheri Leavy and Whitney Long:
