Charleston, South Carolina is one of my favorite cities in the US.  When I'm there I feel like I'm on a movie set.  The architecture, iron gates, brightly colored historic homes, and palm trees surround you.

 One of the most famous architectural landmarks in Charleston is Rainbow Row.  It's name comes from a series of  colorful historic homes

The battery is also lined with gracious century old homes

 The Citadel, South Carolina's famous military college has been around since 1842. I love the pristine white buildings and lush green lawns.  I've been lucky to attend a couple of parades there.

Here is the Cistern which is the heart of the College of Charleston campus.  Anderson Cooper anchored live from there last Friday, January 20th.  I just happened to be there visiting my daughter who is a Freshman at the college.

  You will notice that  haint blue ceilings grace several historic home's  front porches. Sometimes it's periwinkle, sometimes it's turquoise but it's always some shade of beautiful blue.  Blue porch ceilings are said by some to promote a cool, calming atmosphere.  The tradition also has some superstition behind it - that blue ceilings ward off evil spirits, as well as spiders and wasps

I thought I would share my dream house with you located on the battery.  These pictures are taken from a local real estate agency in South Carolina!!

The home sells for just under $10 million.  I said it was just a "dream".
