A Day in the Life of Kandrac & Kole

Our new associate Lauren mentioned at our weekly team meeting that our readers are intrigued by the nitty gritty of our job. So I thought I'd share some pics of last Friday which was a busy and fun day in the life of Joann and Kelly!

9:30 am - New Client Consult

hermanson

On tap for this client: a complete redo of her family room and front living room. Kind of a challenge because the rooms are separate but don't really have different purposes (i.e. if one was a dining room).  So after much discussion, we decided that it would work well for the family if the little room was a reading/chat space with (4) comfy chairs arranged in a circle with a large bookcase along the secondary wall. And oh.... those columns have to go.... they don't fit the style of the home and they seem very out of place.....The larger room would have an untraditional set up with (2) modern chaise lounges as the focal point...And oh.... we will tearing down that entire fireplace and redesigning it to fit the "urban loft" feel of the interiors in this home.

Noon - Meet 10 Designer Buddies for Lunch

A group of us met while working on the United Methodist Childrens Home project for Room Service Atlanta last fall. We have stayed in touch and our group of gal pals has expanded. It's great to get together and see what each other is up to whether it be a brand new project, the Bloggers Conference in LA, the Haven Conference, an upcoming photo shoot, etc.

If you live in Atlanta, and haven't tried Seed Kitchen and Bar, it is an absolute must - approved by foodies!

2:30 - Head to Frame Shop

We then drove over to our favorite frame shop to tackle several projects.  Since our rebranding announcement, many aesthetic changes are happening in our office (STAY TUNED!!!). We decided to frame several renderings of past projects and hang them in our office hallway.

Next up, we are working on a master bathroom renovation. The mirrors will be large and a very specific size so I figured it would be best to have the framer make the mirrors so I could select the exact frame I needed.

Next up Joann was working on custom shadow box framing of golf clubs for a hotel lobby and an office. It's such an honor to memorialize treasured items for our clients!

4:00 Sit in Atlanta traffic and Miss Yoga Class

I was desperately trying to make my Happy Hour yoga class at Core Bodyworks but alas Atlanta traffic got in my way once again.

So this:

Oh well, it was still a great day in the life of Kandrac & Kole!
