My nephew (the italian) and his fiance (the greek) are tying the knot in May!  My sister has planned a very creative and heartfelt bridal shower for the bride to be!  I wanted to share her great idea with our readers!

She has always been a great hostess and makes things memorable whenever she entertains.  Of course she will outdo herself this time.  She created  5 "themed" baskets that have special meaning to the bride and groom.  The first one is the "Italian" basket.  This consists of a bottle of wine, a tablecloth, pasta, parmesan cheese,  and  my Mom's homemade spaghetti sauce!

The "greek" themed basket is filled with olive oil, capers, kalamata olives, honey and the Mamma Mia DVD!

Because the bride is a wine lover, this is called the "Wine" basket.  Here you will find the bride's favorite wine, purse wine charms and cocktail napkins referring to the "princess". (that's what she is)

Another thing everyone knows about Erin is her obsession with her nails, therefore the "Nails" basket.  Enclosed are nail polishes, a grooming kit, cuticle cream, a leopard emory board and some stick on nails :)

And finally, to celebrate the engagement this is the "Popcorn" basket.   My nephew cleverly hid the engagement ring in a container of popcorn.  He thought about how he would "pop" the questions for weeks and finally came up with this idea.  So, while they were having a casual night watching a  movie she was chomping on some popcorn and discovered the ring!!    Inside this basket is  plastic popcorn containers, movie theater candy,  2 movies, "The Italian Job" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and popcorn (of course).

 I know that not only will Erin enjoy her shower, the guests will as well.  As the guests arrive, they will be given numbered tickets.  Numbers will be  called out revealing the winners in between the opening of the gifts.
