We'd like to share some thoughts on being a mom along with photos of our daughters, mothers, and in Joann's case, granddaughter! - Happy Mother's Day!!

BEFORE I WAS A MOM

I never learned the words to a lullaby.

I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Drooled on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple little grin.
I never sat up for hours watching a baby sleep.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

I had never known the warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Kelly and have both been blessed with 2 daughters and 2 sisters and are lucky enough to still have our mothers with us.  So let us introduce our "girls" to you!!

Riley just graduated from The Walker School and will be headed to Ole Miss this fall!

And our oldest daughters.....

Amanda Kandrac Hurst then......

and now....

Amanda works as a staffing consultant and is venturing into a new business called ItWorks (cosmetic products and slimming body wraps).  She is married to a wonderful young man (the son I never had).  I'm proud to say she is an AMAZING Mom to my granddaughter, Jordyn!

Emory Kole then.....

and now....

Emory is a student at The University of Georgia and will be spending the next 6 weeks in Verona, Italy in a Study Abroad Program.

Kelly and I feel very fortunate to have been raised by mothers who made us strong, independent women.  We are also lucky for great childhood memories and for sisters who we share so much with!!
