Is Brass Back in Style?
Yes, brass is back!! Not just here and there, but everywhere. This is not the "tacky" shiny brass of the 80s and 90s, this is brass with class. It is more muted, weathered and burnished. Here are just a few photos of some of our favorite showrooms where brass exploded!!
The Bernhardt showroom really wowed us this market. Their room settings and offerings were phenomenal.
We just HAD to enjoy some cocktails at their party to celebrate their 125th anniversary (I know, 125 years!!)
Not only was furniture adorned with brass so were accessories, lamps and chandeliers.
Arteriors, a leader in luxury lighting and accessories was also in the game.
A lamp and accessory line new to this market called Couture Lamps and Home Furnishings is off to a great start! - I love the agate and how the gold was incorporated inside the shade.
Currey and Compan's brass chandeliers were a hit and a highlight for many of us.
Visual Comfort's new Kelly Wearstler lighting had many heads turning along with their stunning brass lamps.
Even just a touch of gold at the bottom of this lamp designed by Alexa Hampton adds style and class.
Like I said, it was everywhere, even in artwork!! One of my favorites by Natural Curiosities is 72" x 72" piece of art incorporating 300 hand painted feathers gathered into a unified form.
I can't wait to use these coastal pieces from Wendover Art in a beach house (hint, hint.....)
And lastly, Worlds Away showcased a mix of pieces and literally their entire space had the Midas touch!
Stay tuned for an article all about brass making a comeback in the Sunday, November 9th issue of the Atlanta Journal Constitution where we talk about using this Currey and Company "ringmaster" chandelier in a client's dining room and some tips on how to incorporate brass into your home!
