Orange You Beautiful!

One of my first blog posts last year was on my love affair with the color Purple.  One of the things I love about being in interior design is the endless exposure to beauty and unique and creative inspirations. My personal taste has become a never ending whirlwind of change.  I used to cringe at the site of purple. Now, I'm seriously considering painting my master bedroom a serene shade of greyish purple (Check out Sherwin Williams Queen Ann's Lace 6420).

So let it come as no surprise that when I walked into the Pool Lounge of the Southampton Designer Showhouse designed by Mabley Handler Interior Design, I turned into a kiddy school girl in love with a new crush (ha! no pun intended!). Even though this space has overdosed on a wonderfully rich shade of nectarine, I think it is so sophisticated!

The color forecasters told us two years ago that orange was on it's way, but it's exciting to see this luscious flavor enter the main stream.

It's inspiring in high end design,

In fabrics,

And it's fun to be able to incorporate it in a budget design (Go Homegoods!)

I mean, who doesn't love an orange leather chair with nailheads for $129?

Ironically, my girlfriend just returned from her native Columbia and gave me this ring (made out of a natural plant seed) for my birthday. I am just so hip!
