I Feel a Change Comin' On...

I have an itch to redesign my family room. This is a very dangerous situation.  I think Joann will be more happy than me if I actually pull the trigger on this project. When we first moved in to our house 12 years ago (and my design skills were merely budding), I purchased a sofa and 2 chairs (eeekkkk - yes a SET) in red (ok kinda raspberry-ish) leather. Over the years, I've managed to make it look decent but she still refers to my furniture as "pink".

When I look at the decor on my first floor and try to figure out what colors I could use to completely recreate this space but still flow with the rest of the house, my conclusion is...... TURQUOISE AND RED. You see, I was way ahead of the turquoise trend three years ago when I painted my dining room Sherwin Williams Peacock Plume (still loooooove it). Shortly thereafter, I decided to hang vintage turquoise shutters on the walls in my kitchen in lieu of custom window treatments.  But I'm still not so sure about the red....

Ironically, I went to a cocktail party the night after my itch started and I happen upon these very comfortable, reasonably priced Rowe chairs. Karma is real I say.....

Still not sure about this new color combo, I turn to the amazing world of Google Images and what to my wondering eyes should appear? Glorious decor in Turquoise and Red!

Now to find a turquoise textile that turns me on.....  Stay tuned!
