Orange Design

Decorating with orange for Halloween used to stress me out because "orange" never matched with anything in my house.  It's amazing to me how drawn to the color I am now.  I guess it's no surprise since  the psychology of the color orange means "excitement, enthusiasm and warmth".

We recently used this rug from Global Views for a family room that was "exciting" but warm as well.

I love how Artistic Designs for Living used the geometric fabric on this headboard. A solid orange and ivory banding giving it a very tailored look.

One of my favorite designers, Mary McDonald, one of the stars of the Million Dollar Decorators, created this elegant space mixing orange with soft blue.

Another fabulous designer, Kendall Wilkinson used turquoise with a Quadrille fabric, one of my most fabric fabric companies.

Orange has also found it's way into the kitchen.  You'd have to be pretty brave (and cool) to have this.  (The Big Chill)

Talk about brave, these stairs are one of a kind!!

After all, interiors follow fashion!! - Don't be "afraid" to use orange - it just may surprise you!!
