7 Things You May Not Know About Us

I remember when my all things Apple and computer guru husband tried to explain to me years ago what a blog was. I simply didn't get it - is it a website? No? An online journal? What's the point?

Thankfully, Joann and I discovered all the creative freedom, networking opportunities and design ideas that come from blogging for the last 2 years.  So we were THRILLED to receive The Versatile Blogger award from our dear friend and fellow designer/blogger Stacy Naquin (of Stacy Naquin Interiors fame). We met in Little Rock, Arkansas while fellow students of Tobi Fairley and Associates Mastermind Series.

Here's how the "Versatile Blogger Award" works:

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave the award to you

2. Share 7 things about yourself

3. Send the award along to 7 other bloggers and let them know you have awarded them!

So here goes ......

7 Things You May Not Know About Us:

  1. Joann is a first generation American.  Her parents were born in Italy (Sicily) and she grew up in a very “Italian” home.  She was embarrassed to have salami sandwiches and biscotti for lunch while her classmates had peanut butter and jelly and oreos.  She also drank espresso with lots of milk.  Nevertheless, she has learned to appreciate her heritage over the years.
  2. A tornado destroyed Joann's house in Atlanta in1992 when she had a 4 day old (yes 4 days) baby and a 2 year old!  They lived in an apartment for 6 months while their house was rebuilt.  She never takes the comfort of home for granted.
  3. Joann's dream growing up was to be a soap opera actress.  She and her best friend decided they were going to move to New York and be discovered.  Instead, she ended up taking acting classes and performing in community theater.
  4. In her next life, Kelly wants to be a kick &*^% drummer in a rock band.
  5. Kelly has always wanted to have glistening, thick, black hair.
  6. Kelly is very courageous and will try just about anything if you challenge her. However, cave diving, bungee jumping and eating or drinking something really nasty is NOT allowed on the Dare List.
  7. Six years ago when we were first joined in business, we put in writing that one day, we would have our own show on HGTV called "Designing Girlfriends". We still firmly believe that this WILL happen.
Did we shock you at all? That was fun!
Now, it's our turn to pass the crown on and offer the Versatile Blogger Award to 7 other Bloggers that inspire us and who we LOVE to follow:
