Vendor Appreciation - The Next Cool Event

As many of you know we were a part of  The Next Cool Event this past weekend.  We were approached by Barbara English, the coordinator of the event, to help out with an exhibit for Mowgli Games, a new video gaming company who has just signed on with facebook to go national, located right here in Atlanta and are launching in March.  The game they have created called Songster lets people become rock stars in their own music videos.

Leather Creations offered to manufacture seating for the "lounge".  We needed to create a space around the game which was shown on various screens with headphones for visitors to play the game.  Kandrac & Kole's job was to create the design, colors and vibe for the space with this furniture.  This event brings out amazing creativity so we had to step up to the challenge and really think outside the box.  While looking for inspiration, I found this photograph online and thought it was truly "out of the box" for seating, but didn't have the time to create it...... We wanted to highlight all of the bright colors portrayed on the screen so here is what we came up with

We had hoped to do a lime green acid washed hair on hide leather, but couldn't get it from Italy in time.  We incorporated bean bags, also produced by Leather Creations, a lime green leather sofa, gorgeous acrylic tables from Hampton Row,  zebra lamps from Decor Fifty Five and the sassy mannequins from Divas and Dames Boutique on Main Street in historic downtown Acworth .

One of the great advantages of being involved in something like this is the people you meet along the way.  I, probably like many others, thought Leather Creations produced brown leather sofas and recliners.  Of course, they do a great job with that, but their custom capabilities blew us away. For example, upholstered walls, headboards, upholstered tables, booths, and an incredible selection of hides.  This is one of my favorites - acid washed lime green hide!!

Leather Creations has three showrooms in the Atlanta area and also have locations in Chicago.  The owner, Scott Lobel, has made it clear his intention is to expand efforts in attracting the design trade to the company's amazing vast array of styles, leathers and also fabrics.  Here he is pictured with one of his employees, Jose, who told us he loves his boss and his job.  I love that he came to the event and was so proud that the company he worked for was a part of it!!

If I've said it once, I've said it 100 times, I love my job, not only for the creativity it allows me, but for the great relationships I'm blessed to have.

Many thanks to Leather Creations, Hampton Row,  Divas and Dames and Decor Fifty Five for their help on this project!!
