A Summer in the Life of Kandrac and Kole Interior Designs Inc.
Kandrac and Kole has eagerly added another member to our crazy crew! Tracy Higginbotham has been spending her summer days assisting in designs, getting us organized, and learning the in’s and out’s of this whirlwind industry! After a few weeks here we figured it was safe to let her share about some of her adventures. So, here it is, our guest post blog from intern Tracy!
What could be better than spending my days surrounded by talented ladies, dreamy fabrics, and amazing designs?! NOTHING! I am honored to be the newest summer intern at Kandrac and Kole Interior Designs, Inc.! (I’m the luckiest gal in Kennesaw!)
Before I started two weeks ago, if anyone said the word ‘internship’ I would think of an overwhelming and stressful summer. After five minutes of walking in the door, all my fears and anxiety disappeared. The lovely ladies welcomed me with open arms and I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else!
I will be a senior at Georgia Southern University this coming fall (oh, how time has flown!). I will graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design in May and then heading out to see what the world has in store for me!
Next to Georgia Southern’s campus is a beautiful brick house with double red doors, which I have called my home away from home for the past three years. I don’t know where I would be without my amazing sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi!
You would think a college student would rather be by the pool tanning than inside at an internship but not this girl! After three weeks, I have learned that each day is different and you never know what to expect (and I love that!). I have gotten to sort through their gorgeous fabrics from Schumacher, Kravet, Lee Jofa, Duralee… just to name a few! You can image what a dreamland this place is!
I helped pick out artwork selections for a client, helped shop for the work they are doing for an HGTV pilot and wrapped up the week by joining the K&K clan at the Mitchell Gold Bob Williams Showroom to celebrate Room Service Atlanta’s project at the United Methodist Children's Home! Don't these girls just look like a blast?
The cherry on top of coming to Kandrac & Kole everyday is spending the day with the adorable Miss Lilly! How can I get any work done with this little one sleeping by (or biting at) my feet?!
I did not know what to expect going into this summer but now I know that I am lucky to have landed a spot at Kandrac & Kole! Everyday is full of surprises, craziness and laughter. I am hoping these next few weeks don’t fly by so fast!!
