Rewind 2014 - Kandrac & Kole
We are humbled, blessed, thrilled and tired as we rewind 2014 for Kandrac & Kole Interior Designs! WOW! What a year. Please join us down memory lane for just a few of the main highlights of 2014.
January
One fine day in January, we were at a photo shoot of a recently installed project. It started sleeting outside. Wimpy Joann starts to freak out so I say I will stay with the photographer and finish up. Well she ended up being Smart Joann because it took her 15 minutes to get home while it took me 4 hours!! In the hour between our two departures, Atlanta's Snowpocalypse occurred! Thankfully, both our families made it home safely and none us had to walk for miles or sleep at a convenience store like so many Atlantans did.
February
It warmed up ever so slightly in February and we had (2) photo shoots for a National Magazine - the first of which will be hitting newsstands next month! What an honor!

March
In March, we attended one of our favorite industry events - The Design Bloggers Conference which was (lucky for us) held in Atlanta in 2014. This conference is three jam-packed days of learning from well known speakers, being inspired by the events of our industry, networking, meeting up with old and new friends and socializing ALOT! You can read about this event HERE.

April
One of the highlights of our year occurred in April when we were chosen to join the Modenus Blogtour to Milan and Venice. Supported by wonderful sponsors like Dekton, Gessi, NKBA, Clever Storage and Blanco, we explored the 2014 Salone de Mobile show and the beauty of Italy with (9) other talented designers and bloggers. You can read about our trip HERE.

May
Another conference that we sign up for every year is The Southern Coterie. This is a conference that is a little bit different than our normal design conference because we have the chance to network with and be inspired by movers and shakers in all types of industries - design, fashion, food, marketing/pr, and more. In 2014 (and 2015) the locale is Charleston - darn! One of our favorite places!
June
Another huge highlight of the year was traveling to Guatemala to support our main charity, Catalyst Resources International. Our team of thirteen this year was mighty! We personally built a 3 room simple house for a single mom and her five children. What a blessing to give such a gift! Read about our experience in Guatemala HERE.

July
Work? Yes, we do work. Design work that is. Lots of it. This was a year of creativity, expansion and a host of amazing clients. We are blessed.
August
Many times our work doesn't get nationally published for 12-18 months after it has been professionally photographed. We were thrilled to see one of our kitchens hit the newsstands in Better Homes & Gardens Kitchen & Bath Magazine in August. You can read the entire article HERE.
September
Amongst all the travel, creative chaos, social media madness and administrative paperwork we get buried in during the course of a year, nothing feels better than giving to others. In 2014 we were fortunate to be selected as one of a handful of designers chosen to work with the Dallas based organization Dwell With Dignity to design a complete home for a single mother and her two small daughters who had been recently homeless. It was a lot of work and boy did it feel good!
We were responsible for designing the little girls room.
The mom was overwhelmed when she walked in. It was a goosebump moment!
October
Finally in October, a project that we had worked on 12 months prior was aired on HGTV! We were chosen to be the designers (doing all the work behind the scenes) for a pilot show called Move in or Cash Out. The pilot was shown several times across the nation. We have yet to hear if it will be picked up for a full 12 show season. Regardless, it was a great experience to work with the producers and film crew to completely transform an entire house in Alpharetta, GA.
November
In 2014, we were awarded the design work for a large multi family housing company in Atlanta. Leaving our private client homes for a moment to work on designing leasing centers, fitness centers, clubhouses and models for luxury apartment communities was a fun change for us. We know that some of our best work will be with this company in 2015!
December
In the beginning of December, Kelly paid another visit to Guatemala to play Santa to some of our special friends.
After three final installs and securing four new clients to start in January of 2015, this was our team by close of business on December 19th. Grateful, happy and ready for a little holiday R&R.
Thanks for your support this past year! We appreciate you taking the time to read our blog and follow the adventures of Kandrac & Kole. Stick with us for another exciting year!
