High Point Style 2015
Over the many years of visiting High Point Market, I've become obsessed with the styles of the people who attend. It all started with my first blog - "The Dashing Men of High Point" and then last year with "The High Heels of High Point". This past market within being there for 10 minutes, I immediately knew my next topic - "The Stylish Eyeglasses of High Point".
Bryan Patrick Flynn - Flynnside Out Productions, LLC
How many years have you attended the High Point Market? April, 2015 was my first High Point Market experience.
What is your role when attending? My main objective in attending Market is sourcing new lighting, casegoods and upholstery. I use a mix of vintage, trade-only and custom to design and decorate my spaces and finding things I've never seen before keeps everything fresh.
What is an ESSENTIAL you must bring to market? The most important thing to bring to High Point Market is an iPhone charger and/or extra battery pack. The amount of photos taken and the texting back and forth with friends and colleagues to meet up and attend speaking gigs drains the phone quickly. And the last thing I wanna do is miss out on all the fun or get stuck at the wrong place once separated from the squad.
Where did you get your eyeglasses? My eyeglasses are from OGI and they're a marbleized army green, 1950s style.
What is something most people don’t know about you? Most people probably don't know that I'm a spelling bee champion and that I'm a total introvert.

How many years have you attended the High Point Market? I have been attending High Point market since I was 15 years old. I grew up in a family that owned furniture stores so my aunt would always bring me because she knew how much I loved the industry. I guess you could say it was in my blood to be surrounded by beautiful things.
What is your role when attending? I attend High Point Market as a buyer for my interior design firm. It also serves as a way to gain new product knowledge, and see the latest trends come down the pipe lines.
What is an ESSENTIAL you must bring to market? The one essential thing I bring to High Point market is comfortable shoes. The furniture show is pretty spread all around the city of High Point, and it's important that you prepare to do a lot of walking.
Where did you get your eyeglasses? I purchased my glasses from Americas Mart building 3 (International Optics).
What is something most people don’t know about you? Most people don’t know that if I had not pursued my degree in design, my back up plan was to be a stand up comedian. I was afraid I would starve to death, so I followed my first dream of becoming an Interior Designer and I have not went without a meal as you can see. LOL.

What is your role when attending? My role covers several areas: it is a refresh interior design course on a yearly basis for my business, focuses strictly on many MFGs in a short period in the Market and provide a better service for clients. I think it is a great opportunity to meet existing Designers who I consider friends and have such a high respect for them and new Designers on the block. I am a big advocate in supporting and encouraging Designers to grow and enhance their unique talents in the Design world. Secondly, I serve as an Inspiration Moderator for G+ Interior Design Community and my passion for taking pictures of furniture and accessories. It is a great way to give back to Designers in the community that are not able to attend the market. I share my inspiration with Designers on a global view with the intent to take risks in a new selection of furniture and accessories.
What is an ESSENTIAL you must bring to market? Business cards are critical for Designers when meeting with manufacturers. Always bring back up chargers for your phone. Be your authentic self is an important value of your brand. Take the opportunity to share with your peers what you like at the Market and listen with an open heart from your peers. Don't' be afraid to ask anything. We don't know everything as the Market is always changing in how we create the lifestyle for our clients. We Designers at the Market are here to share, support, and be a cheerleader for others.
Where did you get your eyeglasses? My eyeglasses are from the Zen Barcelona line sold at the Fashion Optical Dallas. They no longer carry the line. :-) People asked what I will do when this one breaks; I already bought two more pairs just in case. :-)
