A Valentine's Day Dinner To Remember

I posted photos of a recent special Valentines Day dinner on Facebook and got such a huge response that I figured I would write a blog about it!

My husband Mike and I recently moved to a new neighborhood in Woodstock, GA and were lucky to instantly make a great group of new friends. This Valentine's Day, the husbands (six of them) took it upon themselves (totally their idea) to create a Valentine's Dinner to remember for the six wives.  They had two meetings to discuss which guy was responsible for what and what the menu, gifts and music would be.

Thank you Sonny for the seriously creative and professional menu!

The plan was that Ken would host the event at his house - dinner for 12 with 6 guests of honor.  The guys would prepare and shop for the dinner, cook it, serve it and clean it up!

Here are the lucky recipients of this lovely affair. (Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of our incredible men - they were all too busy with their individual responsibilities!)

Thank you Ken for the "cupid martinis".

Thank you Sonny for the "sassy and seductive seared tuna".

Thank you Mike for the individual rose bouquets, the box of candies and the spa gift certificates for each of us!

Before dinner was served, Richard stood up and gave us all a quick history lesson on the background of Valentine's Day and led a beautiful grace.  Ken then stood up and introduced a quick game of "name that tune" where a song would play over the house speakers and the women were to guess which husband chose the song and what it represented.  So clever! (My husband Mike chose 4 songs - the first being "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton - our wedding song).

I got distracted when the tenderloin of beef, grilled asparagus and twice baked mashed potatoes arrived and forgot to take more photos.  Just in case you are wondering, the dessert was peppermint ice cream with hot fudge sauce and mini boston creme puffs.

I do however have lots of videos too scandalous to share with the public as the wine and martinis poured, the music played and the dance floor opened.

Cheers to six amazing husbands! Now it's our turn. The pressure is on!
