Proud Mom of a Pledge

Today my daughter Emory joined the sisterhood of Kappa Alpha Theta at the University of Georgia. This is an extra thrill for me because I am a Theta too - woohooooo! I am so relieved and happy for her - rush is NOTHING like it was when I was in college (i.e. BRUTAL).So I want to send her something fun to celebrate Bid Day today. I can't send something cheesy though (as a designer, I'm expected to come up with super unique, creative gift ideas - right?)  Her dorm room is the size of a shoe box so I don't want to send her crap that just clutters up her room.  What to get?

Pimped out Tom's? She'd probably die of embarrassment but I love them!

A phone case? She already has a drawer full. Pretty cute tho (from ScribblenSuch)!

She's pretty preppy. I think she'd dig this makeup case from Vineyard Vines.

Of course anything Lilly Pulitzer is right up her alley and who doesn't love a Tervis Tumbler?

When it comes to big events, I tend to lean toward the traditional, forever kind of gift. LOVE this charm from M. LaHart & Co. 

I'll save the big gift for initiation:) For now, I think I'll get creative. You know I have a posse of creative people that can do just about anything for me  if I can dream it up ..... So I think I'll start with this Land's End Canvas Tote and come up with something you can't find on the internet. Emory's Theta sisters will be SO jealous!
